This excursion has two parts; one of free time to sightsee or shop which will take place in the center of Barcelona –the Rambles promenade, Plaça Catalunya, where the guests will find some of the most impressive shops in one of the most cosmopolitan and modern cities. For those not really interested in shopping they have the chance to visit the Cathedral and Gothic Quarters or even the Picasso Museum if they wish (about 1 hour free time). Monuments such as the Cathedral, the Sagrada Familia Church or the Gothic Quarter will not be visited in group.
The second part of the visit consists of an interesting drive around the main avenues of Barcelona. We will also take a brief look at the olympic installations with a photo stop at one of the highest points in the city where the guests will be able to admire the esplendid views.Despite humble beginnings as a settlement built on top of a medieval area of jousts and celebrations, a walk in the “Barrio Born” has grown into being one of the most fashionable places in the city situated next to the Ciutadella park this thirty hectare (74 acre) large park forms a green oasis close to the always crowded historic center of Barcelona. The park is laid out nicely with wide promenades, colorful flowerbeds and many palm trees.
There's much to see here: fountains and sculptures decorate the park while several interesting buildings will catch the eye of architecture buffs.
Later in the evening a visit to the famous illuminated fountains with its spectacular show of water, light and music.
